Associated Press (AP) Elections, Vote Entry Operator - Outcall Team
Middletown, NJ | November 2020 - PRESENT
Worked tirelessly the entire 2020 Election Week as a contractor receiving and inputting voter data into the AP's VoteTracker system. It was my duty as a member of the outcall team to phone ahead to stringers and clerks receiving electoral counts, establish a timeline for when their precinct is expected to announce them, and ensure there is a line of communication for our vote entry operators to receive this data on schedule.
Days following Election Night were concentrated towards web-scraping county websites to cross-reference results with numbers posted on state databases. I am especially proud to have contributed in the effort to confirm Pennsylvania mail-in ballot numbers, outcalling to county clerks for estimates on the amount of provisional and absentee ballots left to count. Consistent contact with my team was maintained through Slack, where flagged voter data was reported, while also utilizing Amazon WorkSpaces and Connect, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Authenticator, for secure and accurate data collection.

The Army Times, Editorial Intern
Springfield, VA | 2016
My first newsroom experience, I was quick to pick up on the military terminology the publication's senior reporters were keen to. I developed regular sources and interpersonal relationships with Army Public Affairs officers through our daily correspondences. The more Army stories I drafted and military personnel I interviewed, the more I learned about the culture behind what drives our service members. The summer spent with the Army Times pushed me out of my comfort zone as a journalist, as I learned to work out of stressful environments, such as Capitol Hill and the Pentagon, when covering committee hearings and briefings.
